The Standard version of Recover My Files will cost you $69 dollars. You can order the application from its official website after creating an account to store your digital license and access to the downloads.
This app is good, but can someone please give me the name of another app that can do the same job?

Yes, there are plenty alternative applications that do the same thing. The one I mostly use for all my recovery operations is Recuva. Access the application's page at Software Informer and click on the big green Download button. Download and install the application, then use the Wizard to start the recovery process. If you want other applications, simply browse the database.
I use this application, will I be able to recover files lost before installation or only after it?

If you use this application you will be able to recover files that have been lost after the installation. For example, if you have deleted an item and during that time you didn't installed or transferred something, then you can use this application. The more operations you perform on your hard disk related to copying, installation, the less chances you will have to recover the files.
You can't recover directories as there is no point in doing that. You can only recover files that were stored in that directory. For this operation you can use Recuva as a recovery solution which is also free to use. If Recuva is not good enough, you can always try an alternative because these applications work based on different search and recover algorithms.
The key is needed to recover the files because the program is not free and you can see the files without the possibility to recover them in evaluation mode. You need to buy it to unlock its full potential.
Perform the search for your drives or files and wait for the process to finish. When it's finished, you will have the possibility to see exactly what files can be recovered. Select a file then click Save and enter the path to store the file.
The version on the Software Informer is the same as the one on the official website. The latest version is 5.2.1.1964 and can be downloaded from the Software Informer.
The application will try to recover files from the DVD but if the DVD is scratched and impossible to be accessed then the chance of retrieving the file is practically 0.
If status indicates that the found files are "Overwritten", how high (or low) is the recovery success percentage?

When the files are overwritten, the chance of recovery drops significantly because the old content of the file was replaced with something else making the recovery impossible.
